Little Israel

Jeremy Corbyn was re-elected leader of the Labour Party despite the efforts of his fellow MPs and a hostile media to bully him into submission. He has promised there will be no recriminations and called for party unity. His enemies  pretend to be mollified while getting a second wind and sharpening their daggers. Public life is cynical and seedy in Little Israel. Continue reading

J’accuse

At a press conference the morning after the 13/11 attacks in Paris, French President Francois Hollande said an investigation would establish this was an act of war by the “jihadist army”, Islamic State. Less than an hour later IS claimed responsibility for a “blessed invasion”. Landmarks across the world glowed in solidarity – blue, white and red – as the victims and French children were harnessed to a chariot of propaganda. Continue reading

Breaking the silence

The election of Jeremy Corbyn as leader of the opposition Labour Party in Britain will frustrate warmongers on both sides of the Atlantic. Just hours after he stormed to victory yesterday, Mr Corbyn – a socialist and chair of Stop the War Coalition – addressed crowds at the ‘Solidarity with Refugees’ rally in London.  He said war was not the answer to the ‘refugee crisis’ now enveloping Europe. Conspiracy at the BBC

Nine years ago I had a long chat with the man entrusted with investigating the collapse of three skyscrapers in New York on 9/11. From the off he knew what caused the collapse of World Trade Center 1 and 2. “We were not looking at a bomb. We knew what the source of the problem was, which was the airplane impact. There was substantial evidence for that. We didn’t really need to understand what caused the building to collapse. We knew what started the process.” Continue reading
