The brothers Tsarnaev, Tamerlan (26) and Dzhokhar (19) finally outfoxed the FBI and bombed spectators at the finishing line of the Boston Marathon killing three people – including an eight year-old boy. The mainstream assessment of Boston 4/15 is unambiguous and assured. Jihad is back and the US has barely survived an attack by extremists from the Chechen Islamist stable. But duping Americans may be harder this time as “Boston Truth” a campaign to challenge the cover story ripples across the internet.
Professor Michel Chossudovsky at Global Research says “we will be publishing a series of articles and reports with a view to promoting ‘Boston Truth’. The underlying objective is to confront and challenge the official version of events concerning the Boston bombings as well as the twisted and convoluted interpretations of the mainstream media.” Other activist, alternative, democratic, progressive and public interest websites have already swung into action. The swift response follows the pioneering efforts of the 9/11 Truth Movement and the July 7th Truth Campaign to force independent inquiries into the 9/11 attacks and the London bombings.
Both campaigns, although spurned by the American and British governments, have exposed the poverty of journalism at the newspapers of record and the propaganda of the major broadcast networks. They’ve shown the official explanations won’t pass muster in any competent court. Unable to respond the corporate media – and the BBC – have simply resorted to censorship. More importantly the truth campaigns have broken the strangle-hold of cognitive dissonance encouraging a dispassionate look at the contradictions which riddle the conventional narratives.
Skepticism has also been fuelled by the details of a number of foiled plots on both sides of the Atlantic. The common and alarming thread has been the connection between the alleged terrorists and the security services. Research scientists John Mueller and Mark Stewart in a 2011 study (The Terrorism Delusion: America’s Overwrought Response to September 11) found that since 9/11 one of the least likely ways of dying in America was in a terror attack. Their research suggests nobody in fact did until the Boston 4/15 bombings. Mueller and Stewart are highly respected establishment scientists.
They also discovered that despite warnings of thousands of Al Qaeda cells there had been a dearth of domestic terrorists. The solution was to create them. They said the evidence showed police were getting better at this and operatives embedded in terrorist plots now considerably outnumber would-be terrorists. They note that in 50 case studies the alleged terrorists were variously described as “incompetent, ineffective, unintelligent, idiotic, ignorant, inadequate, unorganised, misguided, muddled, amateurish, dopey, unrealistic, moronic, irrational, and foolish”.
It’s clear the FBI has been using vulnerable patsies to terrify Americans into believing Muslims are a clear, present and permanent danger. In September last year Rezwan Ferdaus, 26, was nabbed. He was approached by undercover FBI agents to build remote detonation devices to be used against US troops in Iraq. His next task was to be a spectacular simultaneous attack on the Capitol and the Pentagon with drones, explosives and multiple gunmen provided by the FBI. He now faces a life sentence.
Six months earlier USA Today reported that 29-year-old Amine El Khalifi – an unemployed Moroccan living illegally in the US for over a decade – was arrested on his way to bomb the Capitol. According to a counterterrorism official during the preceding year-long investigation El Khalifi detonated explosives at a quarry in the capital region with undercover operatives. The device he was going to use had been rendered inoperable by the law enforcement officers who gave it to him.
In December 2010, Mohamed Osman Mohamud was arrested after trying to detonate a bomb in a van at a crowded Xmas tree lighting ceremony in Portland. He had been trained, equipped and then arrested by the FBI when he tried to detonate the device remotely. In 2009 four poor black men – one was mentally unstable and stored his urine in jars around his apartment – were arrested for an alleged plot to blow up synagogues and shoot down military airplanes in Newburgh, New York. The group’s fifth member, Shahad Hussein, was an FBI informant who had promised them hundreds of thousands of dollars to carry out the plot.
In 2005, federal prosecutors charged Michael Reynolds, a 47-year-old drifter living with his elderly mother, with attempting to wage jihad on the US by blowing up fuel facilities. He’d been speaking to a US judge posing as a militant in a Yahoo! Chat room. The mentally ill man was convicted and is serving 30 years in jail. Next month Bangladeshi national, Quazi Mohammad Nafis will be sentenced for trying to blow-up the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. The original plan was for a suicide attack but Nafis wanted to go home to put his affairs in order. The FBI talked him out of that option and said he could detonate the device by remote control instead. The list goes on but it seems something a little more convincing was needed.
A number of disturbing features about Boston 4/15 have emerged. Nine thousand heavily armed police including SWAT teams were deployed in a manhunt to capture Dzhokhar a university student. There was an unusually heavy police presence – including sniffer dogs – at the start and finish of the marathon. The point it seems is to condition Americans into accepting the new normal – overwhelming military muscle flexed in their faces.
The pictures show security personnel with black jackets and backpacks. Their caps carry the skull logo of a private security and defence contractor specialising in combat weapons training. The Tsarnaev brothers had similar jackets and packs. Footage also shows a man with both legs apparently blown-off. He isn’t bleeding.
The official story is that Tamerlan was killed in a shoot-out with the cops after a car chase. But Watertown police chief Edward Deveau claims he was killed by Dzhokhar who drove over his brother dragging the body down the street. Their aunt, Maret Tsarnaev, says she identified Tamerlan as the naked, cuffed, clearly alive and well detainee seen in a video aired by CNN.
Dr. David Schoenfeld said Tamerlan Tsarnaev was unconscious and had so many penetrating wounds when he arrived at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Centre that it wasn’t clear which ones killed him. A woman named “Linda” called the Dennis & Callahan Morning Show on Boston radio. She said she saw Tamerlan hit by a police SUV, and then shot multiple times by the officers. “From what we saw early this morning I’d be hard pressed to think he was actually pronounced dead at the hospital, I mean from the injuries that he incurred in the street I would say he was probably dead when he was put in the ambulance.”
Their mother, Zubeidat Tsarnaeva, told “Russia Today” that the family had been under constant surveillance by the FBI for years. She said the FBI had been monitoring Tamerlan. “They were controlling his every step…and now they say that this is a terrorist act! Never ever is this true, my sons are innocent!.” The FBI first denied contact, then admitted they had interviewed the family early in 2011 at the request of a foreign government. Dzhokhar, who was shot in the throat, was charged in hospital with using a weapon of mass destruction. He could be sentenced to death.
Craig Murray, the former British ambassador to Uzbekistan says the Russians would not have asked for help unless Tamerlan Tsarnaev was an extremely high priority. But he was allowed to fly into Russia last year and spend months in the predominantly Muslim Russian province of Dagestan, adjoining Chechnya, from where Islamists have waged a low-level insurgency against Russian security forces for years. He then flew out without any intervention from a security service renowned for its competence. Meanwhile the Chechen insurgents deny any links to the Boston bombings.
Despite this Professor Chossudovsky says, “A new legend is unfolding. The “Chechen Connection” is threatening America. Islamism homegrown in the Russian Federation is now being ‘exported to America’. Plastered on news tabloids across the United States, the April 15 Boston Marathon bombings on Patriots’ Day are relentlessly compared to September 11, 2001.”
The 9/11 hoax involved the FBI, the CIA and its close associate, Pakistan’s Inter- Service Intelligence. The Saudis invested to spread a virulent strain of religious extremism, Wahhabism. Together they created Al Qaeda, useful first against the Soviets in Afghanistan, then to destabilise Yugoslavia.
The Chechnyan rebels come from the same stock, and it’s the Al Qaeda brand in its various incarnations that overran Libya brutally and now threaten to sack Syria. It’s the same team and the message hasn’t changed. Americans must shred their constitution and embrace a military government if they want to survive.
President Obama asks, “Whatever hateful agenda drove these men to such heinous acts will not, cannot, prevail. Whatever they thought they could achieve, they’ve already failed…. Why did young men who grew up and studied here as part of our communities and our country resort to such violence?”
Perhaps, “Boston Truth” will be able to provide some answers.
